Transformation starts at our daily breakfasts, lunches and dinners, where community members serve community members. In our kitchen, a lot of delicious meals are created, and a lot of life happens.
Our kitchen team is made up of staff and volunteers from both within our recovery programs as well as beyond. Through our kitchen program, we give our guests the opportunity to gain work experience, learn cooking skills and boost their employability so they can reintegrate back into society.
Last year because of donor support, we were able to renovate our kitchens, so more people than ever are able to participate in this program. With your help, we can keep our facilities up to date to continue offering the highest quality of nourishment, education and support to people in need in our city.
Along with our existing programs the new kitchen program is reaching high demand. Our kitchen program provides life skills to our residents, as they showcase their culinary skills guided by our Executive Chef and volunteers.
As demand for our services increase, we rely and appreciate all donations provided by the community.
With over 100 in-house residents we often need and value the following food items:
- Coffee (ALWAYS IN NEED)
- Meat (frozen or deli)
- Non-perishable food items
- Fresh Produce (Fruits and Vegetables)
- Condiments (ESPECIALLY KETCHUP)
- Prepared food
- Breads and Baked Goods
