BECAUSE
NO ONE IS
BEYOND HOPE

A beacon of hope for the city of Calgary.

Calgary Dream Centre provides innovative recovery programs, affordable housing, and a supportive community to people who have lost hope along the way.

We believe that no one is beyond hope, that people can find true freedom from addiction, and that compassion and innovation can work together for life transformation.

We are committed to guiding the people in our programs and community, as they move beyond hope to freedom, in the pursuit of a life worth living.

The Challenge

Many people in our city face the devastation of addiction, homelessness, and despair.

Every day, men and women across our city face challenges that are unimaginable to those who haven’t experienced the cycle of addiction and homelessness. These people come from all walks of life. While their stories are each unique, they all need the same essentials: hope, freedom, and the life transformation that comes from a supportive community.

On any day, over 2500 people are experiencing homelessness in Calgary.

Over 115,000 people in Calgary, including children, are at risk of homelessness.

In Canada, 22 people die every day of opioid overdose. More of these deaths happen in Alberta than anywhere else.

In 2023, 1867 people in Alberta died of opioid overdose.

The Challenge

Addiction, homelessness, and despair seem like insurmountable challenges in our community.

Some may think these challenges are too overwhelming, believing there’s no way forward. But we see things differently.

We know that hope and freedom are within reach for everyone. Our mission is to guide individuals beyond their struggles, helping them reclaim their lives and move toward a future filled with purpose and freedom.

Our Programs

We believe that people can experience transformative freedom from addiction, restored relationships, renewed hope, and rekindled dreams for their future.

Men’s Recovery Program

Our recovery program pairs the most innovative recovery research with a supportive community focused on spiritual development, vocational training, and encouragement to guide our clients from addiction to freedom.

Housing Solutions

While our recovery program clients are housed at the Calgary Dream Centre, we also have affordable housing solutions throughout the city for men, and women in Calgary who need the transformative power of a safe and stable home.

Alumni Program

We believe that recovery is a lifelong journey. After completing our recovery program, clients are invited to stay connected with a supportive community that offers ongoing guidance, resources, and encouragement for a lifetime.

Transformation Stories

Lives Transformed by Hope and Freedom.

At the Calgary Dream Centre, we are honoured to walk alongside incredible humans who courageously face challenges, find hope and freedom, and pursue a life worth living.

Looking For Hope
– Celestine’s Story

During my childhood, I experienced abuse and was exposed to toxic relationships. There were many times that I found myself in vulnerable situations that would lead me into moments of desperation for hope. The CDC gave me peace in exchange of fear, hope in exchange of anxiety, and faith in exchange of depression…

Never Too Late To Start Over
– Richard’s Story

It’s hard to find a warm place to sleep on the streets. I slept many nights outside in -40 degrees Celsius. Those cold days were the saddest because they would make me realize everything I was missing. If I were to encourage someone walking a similar road to myself, I would tell them it’s never too late to start over. I started my life over at age 50, and you can too!

Light At The End Of The Tunnel
– Vern’s Story

Going through my program gave me hope that despite my past of addiction, there was a light at the end of the tunnel. The Dream Centre has helped me build a life worth living. Now, I want to continue to help others who come here build meaningful lives filled with hope.
