The Calgary Dream Centre is a faith-based recovery organization that is, fittingly enough, built on a dream. We dream that someday, the city of Calgary will not need us anymore. While that idea is still a ways away, we do believe that our passion for our mission and our strong set of core values have paved the way to make a very real, transformative impact in the lives of hundreds of Calgarians.
We strive to guide men and women caught in cycles of homelessness and addiction into lives of purpose. We meet them where they’re at, walking with them towards recovery one step at a time. Our vision is life change for the homeless and hurting. Our mission is to help people restore their dignity, discover their destiny, and realize their dreams.
At the Calgary Dream Centre, we are committed to the core values of mercy, compassion, respect, integrity, accountability, and innovation. We practice these values every day as we engage with the people in our programs; supporting them as they take steps towards recovery and a new, purposeful life.
We believe every human being deserves kindness and love, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our clients have experienced unimaginable abuse, prejudice, and neglect as a result of their situation. No matter what you have experienced in the past, there is always a place for you at the Calgary Dream Centre.
Everything we do is motivated by our desire to alleviate the suffering of our city’s most vulnerable people. We work to make sure every one of our participants feels safe, supported, and understood.
Respect is a basic human right regardless of your situation. We know that every person has something to offer and we will strive to help them realize their full potential.
We are committed to integrity and honesty in everything we do, from our interactions with clients to the way we run our programs. We want our conduct to be an example of what it means to live with integrity.
It is important to us that our system of care supports our participants in their recovery while empowering them to re-integrate with society. This system hinges on accountability; holding ourselves accountable to programming best practices, and maintaining honest and integral processes with our clients as they pursue recovery.
