A Message of Warmth From our Executive Team
Dear Friend,
Spring is right around the corner and we can’t wait to see all the beauty it has to offer. As we transition from one season to another, I often am reminded of the importance of each season. Winter is a season that can be quiet and cold, but we need winter so the ground can rest and store up energy and growth for the next season.
Many residents who come through our doors find themselves in a winter season, their hearts are in desperate need of rest. As they work on their recovery, they finally find the rest they need to prepare for a new season of growth and beauty.
The support that you give to the Calgary Dream Centre is helping the growth of individuals’ hearts and is launching them into the best seasons of their lives.
May God bless you as you continue to read about the incredible things that are going on at our centre. May you be encouraged and find rest in this current season of winter. Growth and beauty are right around the corner!
Warmly,
Jim Moore, CEO & Craig Hill, Executive Director

CDC Woodshop
Did you know we have an amazing wood shop? Our Woodshop is unique, it offers recreational programming to those enrolled in our Addiction Recovery Program and operates as a Social Enterprise which brings revenue to support the various Dream Centre programs. Every week, participants from our recovery program visit our woodshop. Here, they learn basic woodworking skills and have the opportunity to build their own project that they can take with them after their time in the program is done.

Much like their journey in Recovery, they are taught to use new tools to build something they can be proud of. Learning new skills builds confidence and teaches values that help our residents integrate back into the workplace after graduating from the program.
When our Woodshop isn’t busy helping our residents learn, they spend their time creating beautiful products that you can purchase! With 100% of the proceeds going back to the Dream Centre, you can furnish your home and support those overcoming addiction and homelessness.

Operations ‘Moving Mountains’
In December 2022, Base Camp Resorts reached out to the Calgary Dream Centre (CDC) offering us a HUGE donation of furniture! In the New Year Base Camp Resorts acquired the Holiday Inn, in Canmore, Alberta and had 90 rooms of furniture to donate to the CDC. Early January, our Dream Team jumped into action! We started this project in phases each named after one of the Three Sisters, Faith, Charity, and Hope. During phase 1, we had over 15 volunteers come out to help us clear out the hotel.
As a result of this incredible donation, we have been able to fill our community homes and tower rooms with new mattresses, bed frames, nightstands, lamps and more! We even had the opportunity to partner with other local non-profits to share the furniture to fill even more needs in the city.
It has been said many times throughout this project that “Team work makes the dream work,” and it’s true! Thank you to all of the volunteers, staff, and residents who offered helping hands to make this possible.

Make an Impact
For as little as $1 a day you can give someone overcoming homelessness and addictions a chance to truly live again. Would you consider partnering with us monthly to make an impact that will help launch individuals into lives of purpose?
If you’d like to share your generosity as a one-time gift, we would be grateful for any amount you can give. Every dollar you donate will help a vulnerable Calgarian receive access to nutritious meals, addiction counseling sessions, safe housing, and a supportive community.
DONATE NOW TO GIVE HOPE TO THE HOMELESS AND HURTING
Thank you, for helping us provide a place of hope and healing for those overcoming addiction and homelessness. We couldn’t do it without you!
